Meeting Stephanie of HighStitched Voice

In that really short amount of time I had in between family events, I was able to drive down to Claremont from Diamond Bar to meet up with blogger Stephanie Huang of Highstitched Voice! We grabbed frozen yogurt from Yogurtland and then did a quick shoot! And then I convinced her to piece up something in 10minutes for an impromptu second look! This is what we came up with!

The Claremont Colleges offer quite a selection of locations to shoot!

Madewell x LookMazing Event

I’m long overdue, but had a great time at the Madewell x LookMazing event last Wednesday in downtown San Francisco! So many cool kids (aka bloggers), so little time! I was reunited with my faves @pancakestacker and @kathleenmurillo, and then hung out with the beautiful hosts Britt and Whit! Unfortunately I couldn’t stay long since I had to meet my cousin and his wife for dinner. Nevertheless, it was a great event, wish I could’ve stayed longer!

I Don’t Miss Coachella At All

The last two days of Coachella were quite memorable, not so much as the bands and the festivities but the people I’ve met and hung out with.  There’s fashion blogger sisters Dani and Aimee, who are just fun-packed (and never a dull moment!). And then Wes and Garland, two of the most talented people I know. Wes is a photographer, Garland is a designer. Then after wandering the Coachella lands for reception, I finally found Chanda, aka Pancakestacker, with her partner-in-crime Kathleen Carla out at the Rose Garden VIP section, enjoying their little picnic. The next day I was joined by a good blogger friend of mine, Aminta, all the way from New York City. We each enjoyed a good flatbread dish before heading out to see the bands. I then spent the rest of the day with Garland and Michelle. Not to mention, running into Jamie Chung and The Man Repeller! We watched the Wu Tang Clan (first time ever they have reunited!) to end my first ever Coachella experience. (Oh, and experienced my first sandstorm too. Funny, I also experienced my first snowstorm in last Feb’s NYFW). Nevertheless, I don’t miss Coachella at all. But I do miss the company.

Streetstyle at Blogger Bazaar

Here are some of the streetstyle shots I took at Blogger Bazaar held last Saturday in LA. It was so much fun spotting some of my favorite bloggers like Chriselle Lim, Wendy Nguyen, SincerelyJules, Aimee Song, Dani Song, Liz of Late Afternoon, as well as meeting new blogger friends like Una, Anne, Aida, Roxy Limon, just to name a few. I really would’ve preferred to shoot them outside in natural light, but it wasn’t that easy getting them out of the building.

It’s Boba Time!

Had a last minute trip to Los Angeles, and only 12 hours to spend!! I was fortunate enough to be accompanied by my partner-in-crime Samantha. After arriving at LAX with Samantha and picking up the rental, our first meetup was with Natalie (La Vagabond Dame). We hit Korea Town for K-food and then grabbed some boba after at It’s Boba Time. Followed by a fun streetstyle shoot!

As you can see, Natalie loves her boba.

Rewind: Nancy Zhang

April 15, 2011

I was fortunate enough to meet Nancy Zhang, the most amazing fashion illustrator I’ve ever met. She also has an amazing personal style, which I’ve admired since the very beginning. She was basically my first meeting once I arrived in Berlin. We stopped by a really nice artsy cafe for a quick cup of coffee. Then she gave me a tour of the Berlin Wall (well, just one part of it). And then we had Thai food for an early dinner. In between we did a couple of streetstyle shots of her outfit of the day.

Definitely check out her blog. It’s pretty amazing! http://www.xiaoxizhang.com
