Dominique Ansari Designs: “Obscured Enchantment”

This is the third time I’ve worked with Bay Area designer Dominique Ansari. She is always fun to work with and I always love what she comes up with on her latest designs. This time around we shot for her “Obscured Enchantment” collection, composed of evening gowns for the holidays or special occasions.
Featuring the lovely models Jennifer Jones, Pearlynn Dang, and Victoria Thomas. Makeup and hair by Sandra Martin. Photography assistance by David Ansari.

Natalya never fails to amuse me.

On to the second look.

The third look. A lot more fierce this time.

Can Your Model Do This?

Last summer, I spent a couple days in Los Angeles with model friends of mine. We were stuck in traffic (which was the norm) and I asked Catherine (who modeled for me in THREE photo shoots while I was down in LA) if she could sing us a song. Apparently she studies Italian Opera and she very much obliged to show us what Italian Opera is all about.

So… Can your model do this? My model Catherine can! =)

Recent Inspiration: Beauty Shots

Last week, I realized what one of my original inspirations were for photography. And that is capturing beauty. Therefore I would love to do another beauty shoot project with an awesome makeup artist and hairstylist. I want to let the makeup artist and hairstylist loose with complete creative freedom. These are samples of what I meant. If you are interested, let me know!!
FYI: Most likely going to have a couple models from either JE or PASSPORT Modeling Agencies.

Recent Inspiration: Asian Actresses and Models

Inspiration comes from random places. This January, I want to do a shoot with Asian models. I was inspired by these two Asian models/actresses.

The first one is Taiwanese actress/model Chiling Lin. I was watching the movie “Red Cliff”(directed by John Woo) and I was stunned by her amazing beauty.

This one is model Shiya Zhao. I just love the way she rocked this photo shoot.

Now… to find the perfect Asian models for this project.

New Perspective

Sometime in 2010, I started to see the world in a different way. And the world started to make sense. It was much easier to understand (and predict) the way people & institutions & companies behaved. This may not have anything to do with photography, but it has affected my role as an artist. I’ll leave it at that.

Polaroids

My newest project is polaroid fashion shoots!!
I let the models go wild, let them loose, and await the pandemonium that they unleash.
Featuring Natalya and Grace.
